Vital Statistics

Varying information determined by what the State of Kentucky required. Most contain name of individual born or died, parents, cause of death, date of death, birth place of parents, occupation.

Barren Co 1911 Births.

Original copies of birth records are not available without ordering from the KY Department of Vital Statistics, only transcriptions showing the child's name, mother's name and date of birth. No father's name is shown. These are in extremely bad shape due to poor deciphering of names and it is many times impossible to do a search on-line for the individual. I have taken all 805 births for Barren County in 1911 and typed them showing the child's name, the date of birth, the mother's maiden name and the father's name with comments. I have corrected the spelling on everyone that I could locate by doing searches through the marriage records and 1920 census. There are approximately 258 that are so poorly transcribed that I could not find them at all. I also indicated the incorrect spelling and noted if the child was shown on the 1920 census, if they had moved to a different location or possible matches. Included also are those that were not transcribed well enough to find. 54 pages including a full-name index. $15.00.

Barren Co KY 1912 Births.

Transcription of the 875 births occurring this year. The certificates themselves are not available but have been transcribed by people who do not know Barren Co names! There are massive transcription errors making it very difficult for the researcher to find the child. Included in the book are: the name of the child, name of the mother, name of father and year of marriage if married in the county or can be determined, whether they are found on the 1920 or 1930 census (even out of area), correct spellings of the names and variations if found. 101 pages including full-name index (including the incorrect and correct spellings). $18.00.

These are all white deaths; African-American certificates will be available soon.157 pages including a full-name index of the deceased and parents only. $18.00. (Since these are actual images, the files are large. To reduce them would cause a deterioration of quality. When ordering either A-K or L-M, each will be sent as two separate files. Order both A-K and L-M e-books together and pay $30.)

The new publication combines both volumes and includes over 8,800 names from the time periods shown and corrects errors in the original volume. The more recent dates are not complete.
